Microsoft Data Access Components 2.7 Installer Object
(for InstallShield Pro 6.1x)

This object is intended for the developers of distribution kits using InstallShield Pro 6.11 and higher.

It was created by our company, but uses standard Microsoft package for installation of MDAC 2.7, MS JET 4.0, and DCOM95 1.3.

Execution of this MDAC installer object requires, that Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 be installed on the computer. For Windows NT 4.0, SP5 is required.

In the process of execution, the object does the following:

• If Windows 95 is installed on the computer then DCOM 1.3 will be installed (if required) as MDAC requires this. System reboot is performed thereafter the interrupted process of system installation is renewed automatically, using these components.
• If necessary, installation of MDAC 2.7 is performed. The operating system is rebooted as required thereafter the interrupted process of system installation is renewed automatically.
• Microsoft package for MDAC 2.7 installation does not contain components for working with Microsoft Access databases. Therefore installation of MS JET4.0 Service Pack 3, then MS JET4.0 Service Pack 5 is performed. On Windows 2000 this may require rebooting.

This product is distributed free of charge.
